Scarf Knitting Patterns - How to Make a Scarf With Pockets

A scarf that has pockets is one of the scarf knitting patterns that is very handy - you can use the pockets to keep your neck, upper body and hands warm. It will also prove to be useful for stashing small items like a tiny tissue case, lip balm or a hand sanitizer - the things that you need to keep handy during the winter months.

This scheme is knit in garter stitch and is straightforward sufficient for beginner knitters.

You'll need:

1. Roughly 200 yards of bulky weight nubby yarn
2. A pair of size 11 Us needles
3. Yarn needle
4. Ruler or tape measure
5. Scissors

Gauge: 17 rows for every 4 inches and 10 stitches in garter stitch.

Size: the complete piece is 60 inches long and 6 inches wide with 10-inch pockets.

Let's start!

1. Begin by casting on 15 stitches.

2. For about 80 inches, knit in garter stitch (done by knitting every row).

3. Bind off.

4. Cut the yarn and don't forget to weave in ends. You can also use these ends to help sew pockets.

5. Fold the final 10 inches of every scarf end over on itself. Next, sew down with the use of the working yarn.

Knitting tip: To make sure that the scarf will fit you, place a tape part nearby your neck and part where the tips of your fingers will fall. Ultimately add about 10 inches to every side. You can use various materials like nylon blend, alpaca or wool.
